In some circles, just the mention of the "Holy Spirit" brings fear, and the topic certainly brings confusion at times.
On this episode Pastor Randy continues the dialogue about the Holy Spirit. We'll take a look at the words Jesus used to describe the Holy Spirit. Words like -- Helper, teacher, advocate, comforter, etc.
The Holy Spirit is not an "it", or a mere power or force, He's God (the Holy Spirit). And he desperately wants to have relationship with you.

Renewing your mind and changing the way you think is only one side of the coin. To simply focus on one aspect is to become deficient in another.
We believe God wants us, not only free, but completely whole. We need the Holy Spirit to help in that endeavor.
On this episode, Pastor Randy begins a discussion on the topic of the Holy Spirit.
To quote Pastor Robert Morris -- "Missing out on the gifts of the Holy Spirit is unfortunate. However, missing out on his friendship is tragic."

"I'm a bad Mom."
"I'm a bad Dad."
"I'm a terrible employee."
"I'm a ______."
It's been said that Satan often speaks in first person. When we have thoughts that begin with "I" followed by something negative, we should immediately recognize Satan at work.
We all have scripts playing in our minds, and if we're not careful we'll place more trust in these toxic thoughts and words than we do in the Word of Jesus.
Jesus called Satan a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).
In this message, Pastor Randy encourages us to "flip the script". These negative, ungodly scripts that we believe are detrimental to our spiritual and emotional health.
God the Father has called us to be free. It's time to flip the script, to replace these negative scripts with what God has said about us.

It's been said that "We are (or become) what we think about." Our thoughts then become the script of our lives. For many of us, we have negative, ungodly scripts.
Just like memorizing the lines for a school play, it's as if Satan hands us a script and says "Here are your lines. Learn them, memorize them, speak them, make them yours."
Unfortunately, this is real life, not a school play. The scripts we embrace will determine the direction of our lives.
On this episode Pastor Randy presents the idea of "ungodly beliefs" or "ungodly scripts". He once again encourages us to think about what we're thinking about and to do a "thought audit".

Renovations are rewarding but difficult. Renewing (or renovating) or minds will be no less rewarding but it will be equally as challenging.
In this message Pastor Randy challenges us to understand that the journey of becoming healthy in our souls will be very hard work. But in the end it will be worth it.

Ever think to yourself, "They just need to grow up!"? Truth is, we ALL need to grow up.
Romans 12:2 tells us that we can be transformed by renewing of our mind. One of the Biblical definitions of this word renew is - 'to cause to grow up'. [GUT PUNCH]
Paul is telling us that one of the keys to our transformation or metamorphosis (from week 2) is to grow up in the way we think.
On this episode Pastor Randy encourages us to grow up in our thinking and to come out of hiding. Gone are the days of spiritual and emotional hide-n-seek.
It's time to 'renovate, make a complete change for the better, grow up' in our minds. It's time to RENEW.

Why don't New Year's resolutions work? New habits aren't the answer, a new way of 'being' is the answer. True transformation comes from the inside out, not the outside in.
This is why we must renovate our thought life. True Biblical transformation cannot take place until we do.
The kind of transformation described in Romas 12:2 is a metamorphosis. It's a complete change, from one way of being into another way of being.
Join Pastor Randy and Everyday Church as we dive deeper into this subject.

On this episode Pastor Randy introduces a new series and the 2022 theme for Everyday Church -- Renew.
Romans 12:2 tells us to "renew our minds". One of the definitions for the word renew in this verse is "renovation or complete change for the better". We believe God is calling us to a complete renovation of the mind. To stop unconsciously allowing culture to determine how and what we think.
Implementation of this concept will, undoubtedly, be life changing. But it will not be easy. It's time to think about what we're thinking about. If you're up for the challenge, lets renovate (renew) our minds.

Happy New Year and Welcome back!
On this episode Luis Aran brings a very encouraging message about the finished work of Jesus on the cross. He reminds us that --
1) Jesus took away our sin
2) God removed His wrath from us
3) God renewed His relationship with us
4) We are free because payment has been made
5) The power of darkness has been defeated
If that's not a great way to start the new year, I don't know what is! Let's rest in 2022, knowing what Jesus did for us.
